Introducing the Racecomp Engineering Tarmac 2-R
In response to the request of our dedicated SCCA, NASA, GRIDLIFE and GTA customers we recognized the necessity to develop a full competition/race damper.
2025 marks our 20th year co-developing performance dampers with KW Suspension. For the Tarmac 2-R project we consulted with KW RACING to assist in the development of this new competition-focused product.
The RCE T2-R damper is a monotube, double-adjustable damper. Both compression and rebound damping forces are independently adjustable, allowing precise chassis tuning.
Having compiled data from the 7-post shake rig, KW RACING engineers were able to find important ways to improve upon our already-successful Tarmac 2 Clubsport coilovers for the higher-stress demands of competition.
T2-R features an invertedmonotube front damper built to endure high side loads. The damper design reduces damper friction, which in turn reduces heat build-up, resulting in consistent lap times on track. The rear damper is constructed of 7075 aluminum alloy to reduce un-sprung weight in the rear of the car. Both front and rear dampers come with motorsport grade 20mm progressive RD40 bump stops.
Damping forces are controlled by 36mm diameter front pistons and 33mm diameter rear pistons for the most precise and accurate control, with 12 clicks of compression adjustment and 18 clicks of rebound.
With many race organizations having rules limiting or costing points for use of remote reservoirs the T2-R leads the way with a highly responsive single-piece damper package meant to put you on the top step of the podium.
Options including remote reservoir and 3-way modular configurations are available.
Spring rates are custom-specified at time of order, but rates would range from 9K to 13K. Contact us to discuss your exact needs.
